South African dancer Limpopo Boy is facing online scrutiny after a private video allegedly involving him leaked and began circulating widely.
The footage has been doing the rounds on social media, drawing significant attention to the popular performer.
Limpopo Boy, whose real name is Matome Robert Mahlatse Thoka, rose to prominence through sbujwa and major performances.
The dancer has worked with several prominent South African artists and built an international profile through dance.
The latest controversy, however, centres on the alleged leak of private footage.
His management says the video was stolen and distributed without consent.
The team has condemned the circulation and is working with cybersecurity experts to investigate the alleged breach and has urged members of the public not to share the video.
The controversy has since been followed by a professional setback.
Limpopo Boy was removed from Botswana’s inaugural Creators Assembly, where he had been scheduled to participate.
Organisers said they were considering a replacement but did not explain the reason for his removal.
They also did not publicly link the decision to the leaked video.
The development nevertheless comes shortly after the private footage began circulating online.
