Orlando Pirates capped off a memorable 2025/26 campaign by dominating the 2026 Premier Soccer League Awards, walking away with ten major honours. The Buccaneers claimed awards across coaching, goalkeeping, defence, midfield, attack and cup competitions, underlining the depth of a squad that established itself as one of South African football’s strongest teams.
The awards were presented after the conclusion of the 2025/26 Betway Premiership season, recognising the league’s top performers. Pirates entered the ceremony with several nominations and converted them into the highest number of awards on the night, while rivals Mamelodi Sundowns and Stellenbosch FC claimed fewer individual honours.
The biggest winner was Orlando Pirates star Relebohile Mofokeng, who added another chapter to his rapid rise by winning Footballer of the Season. The 21-year-old also collected the Players’ Player of the Season award and Young Player of the Season, making it three consecutive Young Player honours. His performances throughout the campaign made him one of the league’s most influential players and reinforced his growing reputation as one of South Africa’s brightest football talents.
Pirates’ success extended beyond Mofokeng. Head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou was named Coach of the Season after guiding the club through an impressive campaign. Goalkeeper Sipho Chaine was recognised as the league’s best goalkeeper following a season of consistent performances, while Lebone Seema received the Defender of the Season award.
The club’s midfield strength was also recognised, with Oswin Appollis winning Midfielder of the Season. Pirates players continued to dominate the cup categories as Tshepang Moremi claimed the MTN8 Last Man Standing award, while defender Mbekezeli Mbokazi was named Carling Knockout Player of the Tournament.
Adding to the historic club sweep, Camren Dansin won the Betway Premiership Goal of the Season award for his stunning strike against Mamelodi Sundowns, further cementing the Buccaneers’ absolute dominance across every individual category.
The ten awards reflected Orlando Pirates’ influence throughout the 2025/26 season. Rather than relying on one standout player, the club produced top performers across every area of the pitch, from the technical bench to defence, midfield and attack. The recognition also highlights the strength of the squad as Pirates prepare for another campaign in which expectations from supporters will be even higher.
