Rachel Kolisi has stepped down as CEO of the Kolisi Foundation, the charitable organization she co-founded with her estranged husband, Springbok captain Siya Kolisi, in 2019. The foundation, established with a mission to address inequality and uplift communities in South Africa, has been instrumental in initiatives focusing on education, sports, gender-based violence (GBV), and food security.
The news of Rachel’s departure was shared by The Justice Desk, an anti-GBV NGO, which honored her with a heartfelt farewell. In their social media post, they lauded her unwavering support, particularly for the iNtsika yeThemba and Mbokodo Programs, and expressed sadness over her stepping down.
Rachel’s leadership journey with the Kolisi Foundation began in September 2022 when she assumed the role of CEO, succeeding Mahlatse Mashua. Her tenure was marked by a deep commitment to creating safe spaces through sport and education, addressing GBV, and contributing to food security.
Following her departure, Rachel has hinted at new endeavors, including a 21-day fitness challenge in collaboration with Jeff Fitness, set to commence on March 10. This initiative aims to promote health and wellness, reflecting her ongoing dedication to empowering individuals.
As Rachel embarks on this new chapter, the Kolisi Foundation continues its mission to change narratives of inequality in South Africa, building upon the solid foundation laid during her tenure.
