Maserati Bryanston Owner Bruce Zungu Arrested Over Alleged Luxury Car Fraud

Bruce Zungu, Maserati Bryanston’s owner and CEO, has been arrested over alleged vehicle fraud. The case involves luxury cars reportedly belonging to several dealership clients.

The alleged scheme centred on vehicles displayed at the Bryanston dealership. Clients reportedly received R40,000 monthly while allowing their cars for showroom displays.

Owners allegedly retained access to their vehicles during weekends under the arrangement. However, investigators allege the vehicles were later used as loan security.

Zungu allegedly arranged fraudulent ownership documents for the affected luxury vehicles. The documents reportedly transferred ownership from clients to the dealership.

Investigators allege the dealership then used the vehicles to obtain commercial financing. ABSA has reportedly been identified among the financial institutions involved.

The alleged fraud surfaced after Maserati Bryanston reportedly defaulted on loan repayments. Financial institutions subsequently repossessed vehicles from the dealership’s showroom.

Affected clients reportedly discovered the problem when they returned to collect their vehicles. They allegedly found their showroom spaces empty after the repossessions.

The clients have reportedly launched urgent legal proceedings against the repossession process. They are seeking to prevent banks from auctioning the disputed vehicles.

The case raises questions about vehicle ownership records and commercial lending practices. Further court proceedings are expected to clarify ownership of the disputed vehicles.

Zungu’s arrest charges remain under investigation. Authorities are reportedly assessing the alleged scheme and its financial impact.
