The KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) Department of Public Works has launched an Ethics and Governance Desk as part of its ongoing efforts to promote transparency, combat corruption, and improve governance.
This new initiative is designed to foster a culture of integrity within the department and ensure accountability in public service.
The establishment of the Ethics and Governance Desk is part of a broader strategy to address issues such as fraud, maladministration, and poor service delivery.
The department has also been actively raising awareness about ethical behavior through roadshows conducted by its Integrity Management Unit across the province.
In addition, the department has implemented measures like an Anti-Fraud and Corruption Whistleblowers’ Hotline to encourage reporting of unethical conduct.
This move is a step towards creating a more transparent and accountable public sector.
