A currently circulating talks linking former Orlando Pirates left back to their Soweto rivals Kaizer Chiefs have picked up over the last few days.
The “sea robbers” announced a sour departure of Thabo “festival” Matlaba last week following a failed deal that was given to the skipper by the Soweto giants to extend his stay at the club.
The Tembisa born 31-years-old skipper who joined Orlando pirates from Free State Stars is currently without a club.
The former captain has hardly had any game time at Orlando Pirates during the 2018/19 season, with only made seven appearances.
The decision brought an end to a seven year spell which began in 2012 when Matlaba joined the Buccaneers under Julio Cesar Leal.
“Festival” as he is well known by soccer fans was one of the longest serving players at Orlando Pirates, along the likes of Happy Jele.
