Former public enterprises minister Pravin Jamnadas Gordhan has died at the age of 75.
Gordhan died in hospital in the early hours of Friday morning after battling cancer, his family confirmed in a statement.
Gordhan served as Minister of Finance, Cooperative Governance, Traditional Affairs and Public Enterprises. He also served as SARS commissioner for 10 years.
He retired from government after the 29 May 2024 elections.
He is survived by his wife Vanitha, his daughters Anisha and Priyesha.
The Gordhan family requests that their privacy be respected during this difficult time of grief.
