Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla’s trial has been postponed until October. The Durban High Court postponed proceedings on Thursday, August 13. Prosecutors will add two witnesses when the trial resumes. Zuma-Sambudla faces charges linked to the July 2021 unrest.
The State alleges Zuma-Sambudla incited violence through social media posts. The unrest followed the imprisonment of her father, Jacob Zuma.
Prosecutors have already called several witnesses during the ongoing trial. The defence has disputed the State’s allegations against Zuma-Sambudla.
The next trial dates are scheduled for October 26 to November 6. Prosecutors will use the additional time to prepare their witnesses. Zuma-Sambudla has pleaded not guilty to the charges against her.
The case will return to the Durban High Court in October.
